Display Membership Lists

Hi. Am wanting to know if there is a way to only display one full Membership List for the entire forum.  I would like to only display my default user group for new members (which is everyone).  The other option displays too many lists and includes duplicates of the main list.

currently, the membership list display is by user group… however, if you select the limit membership display option, users will only see user groups they are in… so if they are only in members, they only see members. you, on the other hand, as admin, see all user groups…

this is the first time someone has requested single composite membership… most dont want to expose members from user groups folks may not know exist since they cant see the forums.

thanks for your quick response.  perhaps if i explain a little more…

  • i have WP set to NOT "Anyone can register" – all registrations must be approved
  • in the forums, all registered users (assigned as Subscribers) are placed in default forum group "MEMBERS-ALL"
  • after which, members are sub-categorized under "MEMBERS-MEN" and "MEMBERS-WOMEN"
  • therefore, when the member lists are displayed, members appear in 2 lists (ALL and Men or Women), plus the Moderator group is listed — it already shows a member's rank in the forum and this (moderator list) is not really needed as a separate list for us
  • it would be OK in our case to display only one list "MEMBERS-ALL", because permisssions are granted on a by-forum basis.

essentially, our membership is pre-approved from the beginning, so one member list is acceptable.

let me know if that makes sense, or if you need more clarification as to my reasoning behind a single membership listing.  or if i just missed the boat on setup.

i'm certain i could go in the .php file and edit the code, but i know only enough to be dangerous and it is daunting in there… ;)

oh, I understood what you were asking for. but, as I say its not currently, possible…

If you want to do it yourself, you can go into file sf-database.php and find file sf_get_memberlists()… thats where the list is generated… you will want to change the query, such that is only gets one user group – the one you want to display…
