hello,
Need help to switch in THai language. I think i do all :
- I upload sforum-th_TH.mo+sforum-th_TH.po+sforum-th_TH.mo in /wp-content/plugins/simple-forum/languages/
- in wp-config.php file, l enter ==> define ('WPLANG', 'th_TH');
… But forum still in English … :( … Otherwise look it works very well.
K.
The Thai language file is only about 15% complete (as it says on the download page). We lost our previous translator and really do need a new one.Are you sure that this is not the problem as most (85%) WILL be in English.
I check ( in sforum-th_TH.po ) and some words are in, so at least I should see them.. But I dont see anything in the forum… :(
I forget to tell that i tried with language such Italian and Arab, its the same : nothing happen, only display in english…
"We lost our previous translator" … Ok I can help ;-) .. So how proceed to translate ?
K.
have you added the language enabling string into your wp-config.php?
To translate, download the lanaguage package from the translations page… you will get a .po file… fix it up… use free poedit tool and create the mo… send them to us… thanks!
- ok for poedit … ;-)
- as i said i did this :
- I upload sforum-th_TH.mo+sforum-th_TH.po+sforum-th_TH.mo in /wp-content/plugins/simple-forum/languages/
- in wp-config.php file, l enter ==> define ('WPLANG', 'th_TH');
Is it ok, correct ?
yes that is correct. If you have a WP MO file that only uses 'th' then rename the forum mo file to 'sforum-th.mo' and set the config to just 'th'.
This is all you need to do and it should work OK
i have this :
/**
* WordPress Localized Language, defaults to English.
*
* Change this to localize WordPress. A corresponding MO file for the chosen
* language must be installed to wp-content/languages. For example, install
* de.mo to wp-content/languages and set WPLANG to 'de' to enable German
* language support.
*/
define ('WPLANG', 'th_TH');
I tried define ('WPLANG', 'th');
but it dont work …. :(
Ok ok .. I find the trick !
You have to modified your Thai Language package … Inside you have :
sforum-th_TH.mo
sforum-th_TH.po
thailand.png
you must rename them :
sforum-th.mo
sforum-th.po
thailand.png
and input this in wp-config.php :
define ('WPLANG', 'th');
and it works ! :-)

good to hear. we plan to try to clean up all the language files to be more consistent.
Hi,
I had the same problem, but I fugured out that I need to have wordpress in the same language as the forum.
I did not change filnames, only changed WP languages and everything was fine. Sad to say though, because I prefer to have WP admin in english. But wth, it works now anyway.
