Hey Againn Yellow

I asked this :"

"Hey Kevin

Yes the same problem occurs on a CMS template i just tried that also.

I guess you then will tell me that its a wordpress bug and in case that I need to ask You this:

How to exclude a page from the menu?

It might be possible to fix the bug in a WP CMS template for the SimplePress developers but they ask me to put that question to You as we really cant understand the code in Artiseer as it differ a lot from the standard theme code.

Chris"

and i got this answer

"Chris,

Yes, if it occurs on other templates besides Artisteer created ones, then that means the issue is not related specifically to Artisteer.

There is a plugin called Page Exclude that allows you to hide pages from the menu.
http://wordpress.org/extend/pl…..ude-pages/

Please try this and let us know if you have any other problems.
I'm not sure what your specific question is about Artisteer code."

Do you think the solution is to try that "page exclude" ?

Well i tried  that but if i exclude "Forum" from the menu its not a good sulution either – I like that You can access the forum directly in the menu – Well I wonder there have been more than 4 million downloads of WP and am I really the first who get this problem with SimplePress intergration ?
I would think thousand have used SP for there WP blog and got the same bug as me ?

Everyone who has a theme that makes use of the wp_list_pages() function, uses SPF and wants to show the forum on the wp_list_pages()generated menu has this problem. This is because – it is a bug in WP. We give everyone the same advice (as we did to you in post 2 of this thread):

This is a bug in WordPress (in the wp_list_pages() template tag which
they have failed to fix since about Version 2.1.

Two choices: Exclude the forum from the code that builds the menu and
add the link manually (best solution) – or – turn off the forum/topic
title appearing in page title option in Forum > Options > Global
Display Settings.

The vast majority of people just deal with it. They work out what needs to be done (it is documented on the WP Codex) and just do it. I have tried really hard to point you in the right direction. It s not my fault if you are using a theme that (a) does things in an over-complicated and roundabout way and (b) is constructed by an author who does not appear to be helpful with their advice.

The simple fact is that it is possible to exclude pages from the wp_list_pages() call – it an argument you can pass into the function AND it should be easy to place a manually constructed link into your template to replace the exluded one.

Considering we have covered two pages in this thread and it isn't even really an SPF question suggests that we have tried to help.

Ok Yello , thanks for Your effort.
What I will do is just to pass this thread over to the WP guys. Actually many Theme authours
would be happy if they solve this problem too. And as there is an Exclude plugin it gonna
do the work even its like a bit "easy" solution and not really satisfying – but guess we gonna live with this bug
for a while.
I was going for the perfect integration, thats why i tried so hard to engage someone in fixing the problem

I think that its a pitty that such a "small" WP bug is not fixed already as SimplePress is the best working
forum together with WordPress at this time.

So I will just take Plan B and add a forum button manually to my blog until the bug is fixed once in the future.

Thanks for a good forum and steady support not at least.

I have some SP-design questions I like to post later on – It might be more familiar to You also and also more interesting to bring up here for all the users who like to go into details with the appearence of SimplePress.
