Wordpress has a lot of share plugins that will allow you to share an article on facebook or email it to someone but they don't work right for me with forum posts. The plugin places the share icons on the forum page so it doesn't quite get to the level of detail it needs to pass along a posted link.

For instance if I'm looking at a topic that I would like to share with someone I click the share icon of the plugin I installed and it passes them the link

http://www.whatever.com/forum/

This is too generic and only links them to the forum home. Is there a plugin or a method that handles this better and will allow me to pass a full link such as:

the problem is that plugin of yours is assuming the page contents static content which it does not. It if were to grab the canonical url for the page instead of the page permalink, it should work..

you can see on each post we generate a permalink with the right url. these plugins would have to be modified to work with spf.

In version 4.3, we hope to add some built in capability for twitter and the like, but not sure what thats going to look like yet. or, cant guarantee it will make it in. We have to release that version in conjunction with WP 3.0 since that WP version will break most plugins.
