User Manual For 4.1.3

First I'd like to thank you for building such a sophisticated forum, it's so helpful!

However, for those who are not familiar with using forums, do you have a downloadable user manual for the most recent version? I'm teaching a class online, using Simple Press, and my students range from newbie to advanced and the newbies are having a difficult time understanding the icons and such.

If you have a manual, I'd love to know where or if someone else has one, I'd be more than grateful if you could share it.

As an aside — the one thing that I personally have a challenge with in the forum is that if I've replied to what another person said in the forum and there are 90+ others involved in the same convo, how does that person whom I'm directly trying to talk to "hear" me without scrolling through tons of replies. Is tagging possible or some other way of communicating within that environment so others whom I am talking to can hear me?

Thank you!

I have the same request as Holly

I'm looking for a simple USER manual. The wiki pointed out by Mr Papa seems to me more like an ADMINISTRATOR's manual and has loads of distracting extra information from a forum user's perspective.

My need would be a max 4 page manual for newbie users, which would answer to very basic questions like:

-How to login

-How to read and send posts

-How to get posts into my e-mail

-Subscribing vs. watching what's the difference?

I might be ready to contribute to one short manual or wiki-section that would be written from new user's perspective.

That would be great and more than welcome. We want to do all of these things but with such a small, small team and so many commitments time is such a precious commodity. Any help is this sort of endeavor would be very much appreciated.

sorry, the wiki is the best we have…  the forum display section walks you through how the front end stuff works in the forum…

need to write a faq on subscribing vs faq, but have a quick search here as its been answered numerous times… (http://simple-press.com/suppor…..ic/#p53794)

we would be happy to take any contribution that you might have and add it to the wiki!  thanks!
