Hello,

I would want to set up forum for multilingual users. Is it possible  to make a switch  that will allow to user to choose his language of interface of forum?

Thanks

Nathan

Hey Nathan,

Yes it is possible, you get the plugin 'Language and Theme Selector' with either membership, which adds a drop down for theme overlay and forum language in the footer and will do what you want. The selector plugin is called with a template function and can be placed elsewhere within a child theme if you want more of an obvious emphasis on the option to switch.

You have to install the language files yourself, for both the core, forum theme and plugins you're using for the languages you want to be available, from our GlotPress site. Take a look and you will get an idea of how many languages are available and how complete they are - It's community driven so some languages are not as complete as others..

Also, all of our themes support right-to-left languages, but this feature is technically still in beta on all themes. Currently all display elements we can see work as expected, but until we get some offers from right-to-left speaking users to help test we can't really go any further with the development.

Hope that helps!
