at a bit of a loss…  no wp ugprades, theme or plugins upgrades?  just spf?  4.0.4 was working fine?

there is no content being output on that page.  could you check your server error logs and see if any additional info is in there?

Andy, any thoughts?

Well the method of dislaying the forum has not changed so it still utlises a Wp page and either the default page template or a custom template if you have made one.

i think you need to check the Wp page to ensure that (1) it still exists; (2) is in a 'published' state; (3) still has the correct slug; and (4) is using the correct template.

if all of that checks out and the slug as recorded in Options > Global is correct then perhaps checking the actual page template for the call to wp_head() is in order.

Ya I have 1) checked already the page exists, cause it is still showing up on my webapge navigation bar and when I click on it, it takes me to the page 2) yes it is published 3) unless the slug is different than "forum", that is what it says on the options (the plugin auto created the page, when I first installed it) 4) I am using the same custom template i used during 4.0.4

I looked at my custom temp and I got in there get_header(), is that what the wp_head() suppose to be?

Should I try starting a new installation? and how would I downgrade?

downgrading would require a db restore to the state before upgrade.

but, still not sure why you are not getting any page content at all.  I guess you could try disabling all your other plugins temporarily and see what happens, perhaps a js conflict but would be most odd for this effect.

Do you know what javascript it is actually loading? And does it load or need to load it on every page?

I honestly have no clue is there a way I can find out what js it is loading? I was really hoping it wasn't a js problem… Sigh… But all I know is that I am told to put a php code in the header.php file to make the plugin work. so with that being said I assuming it is loaded every page…

the plugin can be found here, I have already started a thread on the support section on WP site seeing if the author would respond. If I can't find a fix I guess I will have to go back and use 4.0.4 since that version work with this plugin in.

Edit:

The two files that have js on them are
* iredlof-ajax-login-plugin/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js
* iredlof-ajax-login-plugin/js/slide.js

I dunno fi that is any help at all

All I can tell you is that the problem lies in this piece of code:

string_limit_words(strip_tags(get_the_excerpt(), '<a><strong>'),20);

The javascript and css etc., cause no problem.

Thanks… I will see if I can figure out what is wrong, or else I will just have to remove that whole function (which isn't that important anyways)… LOL
