I downloaded and am using Simple Press Version: 4.1.3 Build: 2510

Wordpress version 2.9.1, Linux hosting

The posts in each forum are currently displaying in reverse date order with oldest first and newest last, I would like them to be the other way around with newest entries first.

The checkbox under 'Options'->'Post Settings'->'Sort Posts Newest to Oldest' is checked already.

toggling this switch does not change the post order in any way.

What else could be wrong here?

Well first thoughts come up with nothing as this is old code that has been working since V1 with no other reports of problems. The only thought would be if you are using any caching, like wp-super-cache for example, although that would have shown up other discrepencies.
How about a link to a topic so I can take a look…

I just realised that you may be referring to the actual post itself and replies which seem to be ordered with most recent replies coming first. (is this what is controlled by the setting I referred to and not the post titles?)

This is not what my question is. It is in a Forum where the Post titles are. The post titles are all listed

in reverse chronological order ie most recent last. and it's this that I'd like to reverse.

sorry to keep posting. I think I have it worked out now. I was referring to 'Topics' not 'Posts' and I've just realised that the option to sort the Topics chronologically is under 'Topic Settings->'Sort Topics by Most recent Postings (newest first)' so this is now doing what I expect.

of course… you set the forum order within groups, by editing the forum on forum – forums – manage groups and forums admin panel and adjusting the order of the forum relative to other forums in the group…
