No matter what access level, guests cannot read forum … only logged in user can. Running:

WP3 3.0-RC1-15059.

BP: 1.2.4.1

SPF: 4.3.0 – Build:  3963

are you using any template tags?  we have found an issue where they can cause permissions issues though it more often affects users rather than guests…  this was fixed in the RC 1 release which you are not running…

also, perhaps you could post your permission set you are applying to guests on your forum…

and could you elaborate on the relation to multisite or buddypress?

Updated to Version: 4.3.0    Build:  4089

Guest can see forum and groups, but cannot read the posts … on trying, it returns: "Must be logged in to post".

please answer the other questions as there is something else at work here (guests can see and post here and not reported previously)…  in particular would like a screenshot of the permissions set that you are applying to guests and are you using ANY template tags?

Removed Tag – <?php sf_forum_dropdown("1,etc"); ?> .. now guest can view forum/post etc.

nvm… very simple fix…

in file sf-templat-tags-links.php, around line 181 (in the template tag you are using), find this line

global $current_user, $wpdb;

and change it to

global $current_user, $wpdb, $sfvars;

that should fix it up… please report back…
