Unfortunately the keywords are so common, I'm having a hard time making
any headway searching for an existing solution. So pardon me if the question's been beaten to death.
I have simplepress installed at mydomain.com/forums. I can link posts from mydomain.com to my forum but is there any way to link posts from multiple WPMU blogs, e.g. mydomain.com/blog1, mydomain.com/blog2 to a single forum?
From searching around, the one thread I found on this on buddypress/wpmu seems to indicate it's not possible without hacking the code.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was hoping for an quick and easy way out but looks like I'll have to make some kind of plugin or widget after all :(
The fastest way I know of, to do what you are asking requires two extra plugins, and setting of your HOME blog as Private or Mature. (very SEO UNFRIENDLY)
Be sure to automaticly create a new forum post with blog posting.
Plugin 1: wpmu-feed – create a single RSS feed of all blogs on your site (Private and Mature blogs excluded)
Plugin 2: feedwordpress – create new blogposts in your Home Blog using the wpmu-feed output RSS.
Hints:
Be sure to mark your HOME blog as EXCLUDED from the site wide feed, otherwise, the creation of blog posts by feedwordpress will also showup in your feed and a viscious circle of duplicate posts will arise (possibly getting you dropped or even banned by your host)
Be sure in feedwordpress to also have all links go back to the original articles.

Sorry, I didn't check back on this thread after getting the confirmation that it couldn't be done without hacking.
As a result, I've already hacked together a plugin that allows my sub-blog writers to select a forum where a newly published post will be submitted to. Appears to work without problem on simplepress 4.1.3 and wpmu 2.9.2
Might be pointless on wp 3.0 but not planning to upgrade for the time being, going with the "don't fix what isn't broken axiom here" :D
