Im creating a community site wiith WP 3.0. And in doing so, I am allowing my users their own sub directory blog. (Ex. http://mysite.com/theirsite/)
It has also been wished that they have their own forum. My question is, what kind of load would this put on a server, WordPress, or even the DB?
lets say I have 200-300 users… would this be a KILLER? Any thoughts?
Thank you. :)
Mac.
Edit: I found the post here: http://wiki.simple-press.com/i…..nce-notes/
But unsure that it answered my question…
Er… this is not my area in many respects but let's check one thing. By 200-300 users are you meaning 200-300 sites within the network?
Good afternoon. :)
Yes, thats exactly what Im asking.
I know WP 3.0 can handle the load easily as…well.. its what wordpress.com is using.
But the forum 'addon' is a totally differant animal…
sp can handle the load too… but can your server? the sp installation will be per network site… so there really isnt a limit… of course, you server has to be able to serve the number of concurrent visitors you might have… remember wordpress.com is served via a roomful (or more) of servers… of course, the wp codebase (and sp) can handle it… but its your server that will be put to the test…
