Using SF inside multisite: one instance only?

If I setup SF in a WP 3.0 multisite environment, can i setup several instances of SF or do I use only one instance, the extension being opened to all sub-sites?

The problem is that I want  to clearly separate users: one sub site is a school teachers forum and the other one a students forum. WP is using the same info for users across all sites and any user can have access to the other subsites. I don't want this. So I added a plugin for restricting access to pages and articles. But do I manage this with SF? Can I completely hide a part of the forum to some users or could I setup a second instance of SF?

Thanks in advance…

Thanks.

But I have just noticed that SPF plugin has to be uploaded thru the WP plugin page and not directly to the plugins dir. If so, the plugin cannot be activated in a sub-site.

When you activate the Simple:Press plugin through your main site.  Choose network activate.  Then the admin of the sub blogs will be able to set up thier own instance of the forum for that sub blog.  Is that what you meant?

no, absolutely not… on sp having to be uploaded thru the wp plugin page, that is…  its typically much better to upload via ftp directoy to the wp-content/plugins directory (not mu-plugins)…

Also, 'Network Activate' will cause the plugin to activate on all multisite sub blogs. this breaks the plugin on the sub-sites.

When running a multisite, it is recomended that you use a SiteAdmin plugin to limit user blog plugins, such as 'Plugin Commander'
