oh wow… v3.1.4… why havent you upgraded before now?

my HONEST TO GOD answer to this, try the 4.1.0.b upgrade.

Andy and Steve have done a wonderful job with this Beta and I currently have 4.1.0.b running live on several of my production sites with WPMU 2.8.4.a and BP 1.0.3…

as I recal, some systems had to be gingerly upgraded from 3.1.4 to 4.0 because of major database changes. This became easier as the next versions came out, untill 4.0.4 where there was still a touch of an upgrade problem if you used MU and the old Plugin Commander.

4.1.0.b upgrades very smooth on MU, so hopefully, the upgrade from 3.1.4 to 4.1.0 on your site will not give you any troubles.

Thank you for your reply. I dropped my old data…(fortunately it's not very important data). Now the new version 4.0.4 works fine with wpmu 2.8.4 & BuddyPress 1.0.3. I'll try the 4.1 version.

dropped your data??  no reason to lose any data doing the upgrade.  just remove the old simple-forum directory in plugins and upload the new one.  all forum data will remain intact in your database.  if you customized any files in the simple-forum directory, you would lose that during the remove/upload process, but if thats the case let us know and we can see if we can help.
