I can't figure out how to auto upgrade current members to a new user group by form rank. I just have one simple rank that's supposed to automatically assigns any member who posts it's first post to a new usergroup. But it still doesn't seem to work. Am I overseeing a setting somewhere? "Users are Limited to Single User Group Membership" setting is set to off. thanks.

please tell us what you currently have for your forum rank settings…  the ranks and number of posts to achieve the rank… and the usergroup attained when the rank is achieved…

Just one rank for any number (100, could be any) of posts. Only the difference between none and any post is of importance. I assigned an existing usergroup for this rank. Not much more info to be given I'm affraid.

well the last rank in your system should be a very large number… or else you will reach an unattainable rank so to speak…

so first rank should be the nonspecial permissions rank… and be up to 1 post…

the second rank should be the special rank you want… and be up to 100000 posts or something large…  set the auto usergroup on this rank…

Thank you. Still no go though. Even created a new test user for this matter. Is there a difference between an 'auto usergroup' and a normal usergroup. Are there any settings to fill out to make a usergroup act on the ranking it's assigned to?

well, of course, you have to have that user group married up with a permission set and applied to a forum… or the user group has no meaning…

I understand that of course and that is the case. I meant to ask if there is a special setting for a user group (or a permission maybe) that relates to the ranking rules. Sorry, my english is no better. Thanks for the quick replies.
