Whatever I do, if Wishlist Member is active then SPF fails to function correctly – for example, I cannot install SPF or if an install succeeds I cannot select any 2nd level options, such as to create a new group.
I've been struggling with this problem for a couple of days and have tried with various versions of SPF, including 4.1.2, 4.1.3 and lately 4.2 beta.
By 'not select' I mean I click a 2nd level option such as Create New Group. The grid of blue squares appears and highlights each square in turn. Nothing else happens, even if I leave it for tens of minutes or longer.
The moment I deactivate Wishlist then all such menu selections bring instant results.
My latest attempt is:
a] create a fresh new database
b] install a fresh new copy of WordPress 2.9.1
c] upload both Wishlist Member and SPF plugins
The blog has no additional content or plugins – it's all clean and fresh.
My problem:
* if WLM is active then SPF won't co-operate, for example, it fails to install. It claims it's installing, but never progresses on the install screen. It does seem to add tables to the database.
* if WLM is NOT active then SPF does what I expect, eg installs, allows me to add groups, set options etc.
As soon as I activate WLM then SPF stops co-operating.
This error appears frequently: "ahah error: 500 OK"
After viewing other threads here I've checked permissions, with folders set to 755 and php files to 644.
I'm tearing my hair out, particularly as I have to set up the forums for a website my partner's involved in, for a project launching in less than 10 days. WishList Member is absolutely required for this venture.
I'd appreciate some help in tracking down and solving this problem.
There is an error log in the same directory as the blog. It contains around 45 entries. The latest is:[23-Jan-2010 01:00:06] WordPress database error Table '[redacted]_mk.mk_sfoptions' doesn't exist for query SELECT option_name, option_value FROM mk_sfoptions made by require, wp, WP->main, WP->parse_request, do_action_ref_array, call_user_func_array, sf_ahah_handler, include, sf_setup_global_constants, sf_get_option, sf_load_alloptions
Where can I go from here?
most odd as we have quite a large number of users that use spf with wishlist member… if I may poke at one issue, the ahah error 500… this is usually indicative of a memory error… have you checked your server error logs to see if any additional info is present? also, you might check out our wiki (link in page footer) for info to tell wp to increase the memory amount…
Thanks Mr Papa. I tried increasing the memory, but it did not help.
Today I've done further troubleshooting. I tried setting up the same combination on an entirely different server and it worked perfectly first time. We're shifting the site to a server we believe to already have other sites using both Wishlist and SPF.
The server that 'doesn't work' appears to meet the specifications, but obviously has some underlying issues.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Miraz
