Few Issues on the beta version

Hello all,

We have installed the new 4.2 beta version recntly and we have a few questions\requests:

1. How c'an we make the name of the user group appear near the nick (below the avatar).

2. In the "user groups editor" when you want to change the premisson of an existing group to administrator you get an error massage.

3. Private massages do not work properly – you can't reply to a PM and you can't write a PM from the inbox\PM editor because you don't get the user list in the autocomplete field - the only way to write PM is directly from the PM bottom from the forum.

4. Do you have an estimate as to when the "master.PO file" for version 4.2 will be available for download?

5. TINYMCE – when you respond to a massage on the forum the TINYMCE doesn't appear – you just get a simple text box.

6. Do you have an estimate as to when the adding youtube "problem" will be fixed?

Thank you very much (and thank you for a great forum).

Ofir

1 – you cant… just forum rank or special rank

2 – what do you mean permission to administrator? there is not such permission…

3 – need more details please… no one else is having this issue… have you checked for a js conflict?

4 – the PO file should release with the beta 2 release, hopefully within a week's time

5 – have you selected tinymce as the default editor for users? can users change the editor? if so, what editor is selected in the user's profile? this, when combined with #3, sounds more and more like a js conflict on the site. did you clear the browser cache after upgrading? tinymce plus most js changed…

6 – what adding youtube problem? do you mean the embedding flash issue? its already fixed in 4.1.2 beta and quick fix posted here:

http://simple-press.com/su………o-problem/

Thanks for the kind words! perhaps you could provide a link to your site? would be interested at looking at issues #3 and 6, but that would require a temp user account too… you could pm that to yellowswordfish and myself…

Hi, I'm the programmer for the site in question, Thanks for your quick response.

2. When editing user groups, there's an option to allow this user group to moderate the forums. It's not working.

3. We tried this also on your forum here, looks like new members are not in the autocomplete list.

4. TinyMCE is the default editor, and the set editor for the users. It works when composing new messages, but not when editing messages, and sometimes when replying to messages.

The PM interface doesn't seem to be working properly either, clicking on a message doesn't always open it below. We tested this for JS conflicts by installing it on a fresh version of WordPress, without our theme and plugins.

rocksberry will PM you with login info.

2 – what do you mean option to all user groups to moderate forums? if you mean you selected the moderator flag on the user group, that doesnt allow moderation. If you read the popup help on the create user group panel, it says

'This considered moderators box is used to display moderators for the forums. This considered moderators box is used to display moderators for the forums.'

Any user group can actually have the ability to moderate. as the popup help also indicates, moderation is controlled through permissions on the forum. Each forum has one or more user groups and permissions sets applied to it. Its that permission set that control who can do what to the forum.

# 3 – I dont seem to be able to replicate that. keep in mind a user must have permission to pm to be listed. do the users not showing up in your list have an entry in the sfmembers table? I can run some more tests tonight and make sure new users are getting created properly and test a more exhaustive list of members

#4 – sure. can see if I see any conflicts…

actually, just took a look through our db and there a lots of new members without the pm permission set…  there really shouldnt be…  so there might be something to what you are reporting…  if the pm permission flag is not set in the sfmembers table, they wont be listed in the autocomplete… but they shouldnt be able to pm either…

I know I have received a pm from one I see without pm so beginning to think there is an error with the pm permission intialiazation and perhaps with permissions checking in the pm component itself..

will try to get it sorted tonight or tomorrow…
