I have the Sociable and Tweetmeme plugins, though they're only displayed on posts – not pages. Not sure if there's anything else.

Many plugins parse the content to insert/remove/modify the text. There are plugins that modify all links for example. The content filter operates on both posts and pages and a badly designed plugin may not always consider the difference and for some it may not be necessary.

If you can find a way of replicting, step by step, what you see as a problem, then deactivating plugins one at a time and trying those steps again may uncover something.

One thing that is a constant surprise to me is how many users of this forum seem to create their post outside of SP and then copy and paste it in. If they use a plain text editor then all is usually well. But may use programs like Word and do not use the toolbar to filter it in. We have seen posts that were one or two short paragraphs of text but under the hood, with al the crap that MS adds, could fill a couple of sheets of paper.

Yea, a lot of my users seem to be using outside editors. I think that's what's causing most of the formatting issues I've witnessed.

However, I still think that I've run into a few issues here and there. But I'm not able to replicate the issue since it seems to happen out of the blue.

Is there any way for me to verify that there isn't any CSS clash?

Thanks so much for your help YSF and Mr. Papa. Smile

The only problem with that specific post (Test – Post 9) is that the text has no paragraph tags around it.

SP uses the built in WP filter for applying paragraph tags which has clearly not happened in this case. Also the editor would normally add them although sometimes, if the content immediately following a quote is pasted in, this can fool tinyMCE into leaving them off. We did some extra work in 4.3.3 to try and alleviate this particular problem but pasted in content is always a little bit of a worry if it was not pasted in through the toolbar option.

However, the WP filter should take care of it so it is possible that you may have another plugin that is turning off the WP filter – which we have seen happen numerous times before.

I would start up upgrading to SP 4.3.3 to see if that helps. if not then it might be time to examine your plugins to see if any of them are responsible.

I haven't upgraded to WP 3.0 yet since I'm worried about compatibility issues, but what you mentioned above is encouraging me to upgrade just so that I can upgrade SPF.

Thanks for all the help. I'll keep you posted.
