check your server error logs and see if there are any other messages provided… also check the mysql db and see if any db tables for spf (will have sf in the name) were created…

any db caching plugins?

we had one other user with this problem, but cannot remember the resolution right now… will have to search…

I don't recall this before so probably Steve fielded that one. Curious that it should go through the paces but not actually DO anything.

Two things come to mind. The first is that this is just a javascript problem and the install script is getting thrown out before it does anything. If you are using Firefox (and if not could you?) then clear the FF Error Console (Tools menu), try the install again and then check the coneolse (Errors tab) to see if any scripting problems are reported.

Aksi 0 in the simple-forum/install folder should be an instal error log. Would you be able to take a look in that file to see if there are entries?

These all seem to me to be problems associated with the database. A least I think so. This might all stem from the fact that the tables are not being created. Can you ask your host if your MySQL allows you to create and alter new tables?

Also – was there anythng in the FF Error Console (Errors tab) ?
