Importer is progressing very well and I have a couple of Quick questions.

As it stands my importer removes ALL WP users (Except admin of course) and then rebuilds them from the phpBB database. This means that there is no default admin for the forum.

To create the admins I am picking a certain user group from phpBB (The admin group) and setting the admin flag on the members table and then adding the WP admin to the members table – Does that soun sensible?

 

Avatars – Looking at these when you upload an avatar the file is renamed to include a number before it but I cant seem to find where this is done so some pointers would be handy

the number appended to the avatar is mostly irrelevant… its a date timestamp used in case multiple folks upload the same filename…  you can ignore or add your own sequence – just make sure the filename matches the saved filename for the avatar in the members table…

in addition to the admins flag in the members table, you should set the admin capabilities that you want them to have…  and they also should get a default set of admin options…  both of those can be see in the install script for the admin installing the plugin…

Its getting there.

I am only working on it in the evenings and at the weekend so have no real idea when it will be 100% done but hopefully it wont be too long

The main drive behind this is to get our forum migrated away from phpBB so it fits in far better with the main website so there is a lot of reasons to get it finished
