Hello,

I have a user who used Simple:Press's RPX feature to create a forum account linked to her Facebook profile. In WordPress's user config (as opposed to Simple:Press's user config), I then promoted her account to Contributor. But anytime she tries to access anything in the site's /wp-admin/ hierarchy, she is redirected to /forum/. I created a forum account using my own Facebook username and was able to duplicate this behavior.

Is it normal for someone who registered for my blog via the forum/RPX to not have access to the WordPress admin interface?

WordPress 2.9.2, Simple:Press Forum 4.2.3.

sounds like you have the block admin feature enabled… its design to keep users out of the wp admin area…

see forum – options – general settings and disable or configure block admin the way you want…
