Hi,

in spf 4.1.3, it was possible to embed some videos, but in the new version the code is not saved when posted… Images will be more explicite :

Video in 4.1.3

Posting a video in 4.2 :

The post :

Where is my video ???

I'm using WP-MU 2.9.1.1. There is something to do to enable video embending ?

P.S.: there is no problem with posting text or whatever else, just video embeding that doesn't work

I used the HTML button (in TinyMCE) with the youtube's embedding code

<object width="500″ height="315″><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lZh3hXuHs6k&hl=fr_FR&fs=1&hd=1&border=1″></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lZh3hXuHs6k&hl=fr_FR&fs=1&hd=1&border=1″ type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500″ height="315″></embed></object>

Then I tryed with "insert/edit embedded media" with no result

And thanks for your time :)

It rather depends on how you are embedding them and where from.

If you are using the 'embed' code form YouTube then this IS a problem as YouTube have moved from 'object' to 'iframe' and iframes are not allowed in forum posts. There is a very good reason for this as iframes are a huge security risk.

To try and help with this we will be supporting the 'oEmbed' protocol that will allow users to just paste in the YouTube url instead. This will be available in the next update (4.4.3) which we hope to release over the next couple of days.

youtube only changed the default to to iframe…  you can still select the embedding method to be object which works fine…  we strip out iframes because its a severe security risk for us to allow users to post iframes in your post content…
