Hi All,

Does Simple:Press have a public API? Or even a private one for that matter. I'd like to pull things like "Latest Posts" and "Most Popular Posts" from Simple:Press and display that info on one of my WordPress pages.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Thanks Mr Papa!

Exactly what I was looking for.

Sorry for the follow-up question…

I'm using the code below to get the forum topic, but I don't see a way to get the text, or more correctly, teaser text is really what I want to display.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

not sure I follow you…

that template tag simple displays a link to the forum specified…  by default the text of the link will be the forum name…  you can replace the second argument ('') with a separate text string if you want something different…

if you are referring to the ability to display a forum or topic teaser (thats where you display the forum title or topic title then show a special message when they click the link), thats part of the normal forum display if enabled and invoked via permissions, but does not relate to this template tag for displaying a simple link to the forum…

if neither of those apply, could you please clarify…

Doh!

I just realized, I'm asking the wrong question!

I want to most current post with teaser text from that category.

e.g.

Title of the post

Back to the wiki for me!

Awesome!

Thank you both so much for your assistance.

For what it's worth…This is obviously my first time using S:P and I have to say, I find it to be a reason to consider WP as a CMS tool. I normally develop on 'real' CMS engines and steer clients away from WP as a CMS(nothing against WP, it's the best at what it does, blogging). But with plugins like S:P I think it makes it worth re-considering using it as such.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you.

I think the folk at WP are slowly beginning to wake up to the fact that there is a whole world out there that they could catrer for with really some quite minor changes or developments. There has always been this reliuctance to position WP as anything other than a blogging tool but I think I detect the beginnings of a a slow awakening…
