you could try creating us a temp wp admin account with spf admin capabilities and we can take a closer look…  please pm the credentials to yellowswordfish and myself…

Sounds good, temp account created and just sent you a PM with the details.  Thanks for doing something like this.  Let me know if you need anything else.

I can also pass on a couple of other things… your theme is loading an older version of jquery from google api labs… normally those do not include jquery noconflict which can lead to more errors/conflicts with other js…  at least it seems to be loading it properly through the wp api so multiple copies are not loaded…

additionally, your theme is loading mootools… this is another js library that is known to conflict with jquery…  it tends to be hit or miss if it works…

not sure how those are related, but something to start with while waiting for the credentials…

okay, well its this theme or gantry framework…  for some reason they are firing the wp_footer action which is a front end hook for themes and plugins…  it shouldnt be fired in the admin pages…  there is a separate admin footer action for that…

changing themes to wp default makes everyhting work…  so I would pose the question to the theme guys as to why they are firing that hook in the admin???  I can probably give you some code for us to ignore it, but that is very non standard…

Thanks for the help so far, you guys are awesome.  I started a thread in the RocketTheme forum on this issue and linked to this thread, so perhaps they will have an idea.  Here is the thread at RT for those that want to follow…

That would be great if there is no other solution.  I really like your guys' forum and want to stick with it.  I use vBulletin in my other website and I'm liking the layout of simplepress and see you guys are updating regularly.  That's huge for us users.

I added some code to handle that front end hook occurring in the back end… it got rid of the error, but the forum still doesnt load and the forum admin panels are still dorked up…  leads me to think other oddities are occurring in the backend…

Dang, I wish I would have known compatibility before I bought their theme.  Thanks for getting rid of that error.  I'm contacting the guys at RocketTheme also, so I hope to find a solution.  I'd hate to have to use another forum.  I'm getting exited about the launch of my newest site.  I may just go ahead and launch it while in lingo with the forum.

BTW… I saw your sites from your sig link and they look awesome, well done.
