Hi,

I recently updated my forum to 4.1.3 after using an old version for a long time. Since the update, there is a problem with the editor.

Say that you enter a text in a new post. At some point, the text reaches the right border. The problem is that the text does not go to the next line, but it continues further on the same line and it is not visible on the screen until some point when the next characters come on the next line.

A related problem is that the icons at the right of the menu at the top of the editor are not visible either.

To see by yourself, go to http://www.internetofficer.com…..ellaneous/ and click on "Add a New Topic" and start editing a new post.

This is possibly a simple issue for people with a good CSS knowledge, but I am no CSS guru.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Jean-Luc

its not css… primary cause is not giving the forum enough room – or more importantly, not giving tinymce enough room… you have a few options:

o remove the sidebar and give the forum decent space – that is an incredibly narrow width you have provided
o switch to a different editor than tinymce
o go to forum – components – toolbar and remove enough buttons to allow tinymce to fit in that very narrow space

Hello,

We are having a similar problem but ours is not using TinyMCE, just the plain textarea. Any simple way to change it?

Widening the column is not currently an option for us.

try shortening it… that is a very, very narrow area for the forum…

It's not that narrow. ;)

Anyway, I fixed it, but shortening the textarea wasn't the only fix — I had to change sf-form-topic.php so that the size of the topictitle input wasn't 80% anymore. Once both of those changes were made, the problem went away. It took a lot of searching to find the specific files I needed to edit.

Hi Mr Papa,

I followed your suggestion and removed several buttons from the menu. The problem is gone. Thanks.

I agree that the forum is too narrow and will change that soon (hopefully).
