Most Recent topic shows in nav bar

Hi! We're using spf forum with Magazine theme from c.bavota, and each time someone posts in the forum the most recent topic shows next to the "forum" nav item. Going to the home page of the site and then returning to the forum removes the post from the nav.

Is there a setting i'm missing to turn this off?

This is a long standing and annoying bug in WordPress. There are three options (not counting fixing the bug which is possible but means changing WP core code):
- Opt to not show the page title in the forum.
- Exclude the forun from the menu in wp_list_pages() and add a manual link instead.
- Upgrade to 4.2 (currently RC1 but die to be released over the next week)
We have managed at long last to code up a workaround for the bug whoch arrives in 4.2
