Hello,

i´m making a new website für our bicycle club. At the moment we use a phpbb3 forum with prosilver style.

I decide to change to wordpress and so i found simple:press Laugh

I prefer simple:press more than using WP-united with phpbb3.

Is there a skin for simple:press wich is looking "like" the style prosilver in phpbb3?

if not, which skin is easier to change in this direction?

thanks a lot! :)

I wouldn't know to be honest. I can say that probably the simplest would be 'Detroit' or 'Lifestyle' but 'Default' is the more commented.

and be careful not to confuse a phpbb template with an spf skin…  customizing the skin wont let you move elements around like a phpbb template…  we will convert to a templating system ourself soon…

I'm a bit afraid of what will happen to my free time when you open up for custom templates Surprised

thinking about it makes my head hurt… all… the… possibilities ;) Would it be possible for you to make a "thesis style" framework? Where you have a basic setup, but can move around all possible functions in a vast set of hooks? See diythemes.com/thesis/ , and here is a visual reference of all the hooks you can use in thesis: http://thesishooks.com/ - it makes it so easy just to "remove content A from hook B" and "place A in Hook C instead but with a minor tweak (or whatever)". The dream would be (as in thesis) a "custom" folder where you have your own custom_functions.php, custom.css and all the extra images and stuff

thats the thought… like any wp theme, give you the template functions to call to place forum content where you want… and only the elements you want…

of course, the first iteration isnt likely to be quite as flushed out as a theming system that has been around for a while. but will grow/improve it as we go.

Add in the plugin system we plan, with hooks and filters, and it should be fun times!

Just have to get 4.2.1 out here in the week. then get 4.3 out to coincide with wp 3.0 and its on to 5.0…
