Hi,

And thank you in advance for your support.

I am quite a newbie to SimplePress and WordPress.

I was trying to implement a SPforum within a WP template, everything looked fine.

However when I want to read a post, the post area seems not to be wide enough to show the entire text. And when I want to edit/reply, the edit area is too wide as well (although an horizontal scrollbar shows up).

(Since I am working locally, I won't be able to provide you with a link, but I can send screen captures.)

I have changed the WP template at several occasions, even trying a on column template, still too wide.

Crawling this forum, I have removed the caption in the various menus and checked the box "Forum Float Clear"

Any other suggestions ?

Again many thanks in advance.

its because you have not given the forum just width… forums are not meant for narrow spaces as they contain large amounts of information… you have a couple of options…

o remove sidebars to give the forum adequate room (see our wiki on how to create a custom page template)
o change editors to html, bbcode or plain texarea… of course, you lose the nice tinymce buttons too
o remove some unused tinymce buttons on forum – components – editor toolbar

as always a link is useful for looking at issues on your site…

Thank you very much for your answer.

I suspect what was going on. In order to test the message area, I pressed a key and maintained it pressed until the hor nav bar appears. Then I posted the message.

When I changed the width of my forum, I believe recorded posts kept their "wide width shape".

Once I deleted them, it came back to normal.

Everything is fine now.

Thanks again, your message helped me anyway..
Best regards.

Ah – you mean you created a ine with no spaces wider than the window. I think.

HTML needs a space to wrap lines at. it can be a real pain sometimes.

np. wish there was an easy way to trim it ourselves – short of a character count that would not be consistent from install to install…
