Misleading Label or I misunderstood something?
Guest have Read Only Access with Can view forum and topic lists only.
When I click as a guest to check a topic the label shows as You must be logged in to post
BUT I am not trying to post, only to read.
Best regards,
Bulli
Because I only want to read, I am not going to post anything, and in the case it shows as soon as I click a topic to READ it.
This message should popup or show if I click Post a reply.
Best regards,
Bulli
The point is, however, that it is an accurate statement of fact. To be able to make a post being logged in to the forum is required. If you can not post then there is no 'reply' button to be seen or clicked on.
Plus there is no way for the forum to anticipate what you may or may not want to do. It is just stating the fact of the matter.
I agree with Andy. its a simple statement of fact and has nothing to do with reading a post.
In your post 3, what you say is already an option. since you are using the sneak peek stuff, you can create a custom message that shows up when the user tries to read the hidden topic…
but thats still reading and not posting… the greeting message has nothing to do with reading…
of course, if you want to remove it, you can edit the sf_render_loginstrip() function in sf_page_components.php.

Thanks for the reply, but sitll does not make sense to me, here it is in another way:
I blocked Guest from seeing any topic, he can just see the titles, if he clicks on anything he will get
You must be logged in to post and NOTHING ELSE
Should not the guest get a message to Register or Only logged in users can read?
In this case we know exactly what he is trying to do, READ, and would not be reply or post since he did not see anything YET.
Well, thanks, maybe just a point of view, no need to reply
Best regards,
Bulli
There would normally be a 'Register' and 'Login button on the right of the bar. Do you not have that? Have you removed them?
have you allowed guests to register on your blog? you must if you want them too… thats on wp admin – settings – general… then, are you displaying login and register on the forum pages? thats forum – components – login and registration…

Register and Login removed from forum because of the theme I am using with some redirect acording to WP Roles. When I left them on the forum everything gets missed up if someone clicks logout.
The forum template (special template without any widgets to make forum full page width) would be clsoed and the user would be left in the same page but with widgets all over the place.
It is no big deal anyway, I will just do some redirect in this case for the guest from WP.
Best regards,
Bulli
