Hi guys,

Just upgraded from 5.4.2 to 5.5.0.1 on my site and it went relatively smooth.

My support guy logged in and is trying to answer questions, but his posts are automatically going to "Awaiting Moderation" which is weird because he's a moderator and I didn't change any permissions before or after the upgrade.

How do I fix this situation?  My admin account doesn't seem to have this issue.

Did you also upgrade any of your sp plugins with updates waiting?

Have you verified the permissions for this user?  verify his usergroup and then the permissions granted to this forum...

Also, just to make sure, are you running akismet plugin for simple press?  if so, is his post being marked as spam too?

you might try going to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and trying resetting the auths cache...

does is occur only for this one individual?

Sorry for the delay here--He does have the right permissions (this happened after a 5.x upgrade, definitely pre 5.5, maybe 5.4?)

It only occurs for him (he's my only moderator)  Akismet is running and marking some spam posts, but his are definitely NOT spam.  He's in the Phillipines so maybe it's an IP auto-flag?

The latest version of admin bar adds new permission to bypass Akismet checks for users... Might be useful if Akismet (not much else can do there) is making ham...

OK, we've upgraded to 5.5.1/WP 4.0, all my plugins and themes for SP are up to date.  I enabled the "Bypass Akismet Check" for my moderator role and he's STILL seeing this behavior.

I updated the Moderator's (role) permissions to add this additional new permission.  I just checked his local permissions from his profile and they don't have this in there.  He's set as a moderator, so I don't understand why those didn't propagate.

Why did that not work and how can I fix it?

Further information:

My forums all show DIFFERENT permissions for this guy who is a moderator.  I have the permissions set for each forum to use the Moderator Permission Set for the moderator role.  I even went in and tried to edit/save the moderator permissions.  This had no effect--his permissions still show that he doesn't have Akismet bypass on all forums (and is missing basic stuff on others too--seems to be an epidemic of permission issues here)

What other screenshots do you need to help here?

Have you tried resetting the auth cache?

Forum > Toolbox > Housekeeping > Reset Auths Cache

I just tried it.  There is no effect on the user's profile permission set for the FAQ forum (which it actually says in the Reset Auths Cache description--"This will not affect permissions")

Right, but the actual permission sets are in place, it just appears as though they are being overlooked....

I'm afraid I don't have any ideas on this one, will have to wait for Mr Papa to take a look.
