How to auto-unsubscribe people when they cancel their membership

I have a paid forum, so occasionally, people cancel.

I also have them auto-subscribed to threads when they post.

The problem: when they cancel they are not auto-unsubscribed from their forum threads. But if they click the unsubscribe link in the email they get about the thread, they have to login to unsubscribe, but since they've cancelled, they can't access the page where they can unsubscribe.

. .

I'm thinking... people need to be auto-unsubscribed when they cancel OR they should be able to unsubscribe without logging in.

Any ideas?

First, Simple Press does not have users - they are wp users.... And wp does not have a concept of memberships in core...

So you must have a membership plugin of some sort for this cancel feature... But of course since wp and thus simple press really don't know about this cancel, not much we can do...

If your membership plugin fires a standard wp action on cancel or changes the wp roles on cancel, we can probably give you some code to accomplish... But the membership plugin has to do something to notify wp or other plugins...

Got it.

I'm running wishlist member plugin. When someone cancels, wishlist cancels their membership in the wishlist backend, but their account in simple press stays active. Do you know how to make wishlist communicate with simple press?

Hey John, have you read this Codex Entry on Wishlist and Simple Press? If set up correctly it should behave as you want..

Just following up. This appears to work.

I'm also using a new payment platform and it communicates with wishlist, which communicates with simple press.
