Eeeesh feels like I'm spamming the forums tonight, sorry!
Just wondering how I would go about completely removing the Recent Posts from showing at the bottom of the forums as shown here:
the div id is #spRecentPostList
I would preferably not like to remove it via css.

its in your sp theme... you can add, remove or changes how things layout in your forum there...
by default, the recent post stuff only shows on group view, so you want to look at the spGroupView.php template file... just remove this call:
sp_RecentPostList('show=10', __sp('Unread and recently updated topics'));
as always, we highly recommend you have your own child theme or theme to keep from losing changes on updates...
