I just outfitted my site with a custom Google search engine. Two questions:

1. Is there an easy way to unpublish the default SP search field?

2. Is there a way to replace the SP search field with the custom Google search?

Hey Andrew,

Yes, technically you can remove the SP search field, but I don't think the Google search will be as integrated as the SP search. Although I could be wrong, I don't know anyone that has used it and can't find much in these forums..

Would you not be better off adding the Google search as a widget for your WP site?

If you really want to remove SP search you can do so by removing the function calls from the spHead.php template.
