From what I can see with the Forum Tools not working after update, the box appears behind the forum. Part of the box is under the forum page. Looks like another CSS issue... This happens in all browsers.

On the first question regarding tooltips I don't udnerstand your point. This IS the define I mentioned. You need to set it to false. Did you overwrite it with an update to the theme? As always we recommend that you create your own SP theme so that any customisation is not lost during a future update. (http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/).

Or are you suggesting that we should be able to fix the way it displays in IE/Win8? Because if so then all the 'tooltip' scripts I tried showed the same problem suggesting this is much more of a Win8 issue.

On the forum menu then this is going to come down to an artifact of your WP theme with a CSS styling conflict of some kind. There have been changes to the ui-dialog z-index caused by changes to the WordPress ui-dialog CSS. It is possible your Wp theme is overriding both. We would need to see it in action in order to suggest a solution.

I fixed the IE issue, yes I did not have my own theme created so the "false" was overwritten.

My website is live, I will PM you admin account so you can test this.

Nothing else, I did have a saved copy of the .CSS for the CSS theme, so I am ok now minus the Forum Tools issue, can not select anything within that box.

Please refer to the codex article - Theme Changes for 5.4.2 - and see the CSS section on the ui-dialog. These changes became necessary because of changes to WordPress CSS on their 3.9 release.

So how do I fix my forum so it works as it did before this update?

Add the changes in the codex article that Andy linked to into your custom sp theme...  unfortunate when wp changes common use css and we have to update like this...
