Hi there

I installed identity plugin, added code lines in sp_topicView.php but I don't like the results.

I have the icon displayed, and when I click on It, it brings me to a 404 error.

Example.

I created a Steam identity. My Steam identity is something like User87

When I click on the steam icon in the topic view, it brings me to http://mywebsite/User87 -> it returns a 404

I would like to make NOT clickable these "added" identities, displayng the information only on hover.

Example: on topic view, I just hover of steam icon and it shows me "user87".

Is there any way I can do this?

Thanks

why does it generate a 404?  did you not enter the full url to your Steam profile page?  and not just the last part or identity?

afraid the identity plugin does not allow just an image but is designed for a URL...

is it really the URL you dont want or just that it is  correct?

Uhm this is a little odd because the identity tip says "please do not insert URL but just account names".

Thanks anyway 🙂 Maybe I should use custom profile field for this

The tip about not entering a url is for the end user filling in the identity field. If you look at the popup help on the actual add identities plugin admin screen then it is quote explicit that a base url is needed and how it works.

If there is no website url to be used here (like FaceBook for example) then yes - you should use the Custom Profile Fields plugin instead.

Thanks for the answer.

I created a new custom profile field, and it shows correctly on topic view.

I have just a problem: the custom field is in a <p> tag, so it's not properly aligned to other informations.

this is the code i used in the topicview.php

sp_PostIndexUserPosts('tagClass=spPostUserPosts spCenter', __sp('Forum Posts: %COUNT%'));
                                    if (function_exists('sp_CustomProfileFieldsDisplay')) sp_CustomProfileFieldsDisplay('Battletag', $spThisPostUser->ID,);

You should really use the sp_CustomProfileFieldsDisplayExtended() tag and pass it a class. Try...

sp_CustomProfileFieldsDisplayExtended('tagClass=spPostUserPosts spCenter', 'Battletag', $spThisPostUser->ID, 'Optional Label');

and see if that is better.
