We installed the Polls plugin and did some test, but it's not working, it shows the message: "A Simple Press Poll can only appear in a forum post"

Here's an example. Any advice?

There was an issue with the polls plugin earlier this year that resulted in this message to do with themes displaying the forum outside the WP loop... but the code fix was added and the plugin updated a few months ago. Are you running the latest WP, SP, and plugins?

If not, first thing to try is updating and it should fix it. If not let us know

I'm running Simple Press 5.5 and downloaded the plugin last week (version 1.5.2) I think that's the lattest. (Please, excuse my english, I'm doing my best).

I've been searching the forum and saw some post saying that, but there was still some people saying it wasn't working, just do a google search and the problem is affecting a lot of websites :-)

Your English is fine :)

So If you've read through previous topics on this subject, have you already tried limiting the display to within the WP loop, and / or forcing the strict use of WP API?

Yes I tried. I must keep strict use of WP API checked, if not something weird happens and it shows the forum first fullwidth, then bellow the forum as it's meant to be. Doing this the polls appear, here I captured a screenshot.

The other option (WP loop) seems to have no effect.

OK So you're saying that with strict API un-checked then the poll works fine?

strict api should be a last resort...  with it off and then display multiple off and display in loop on, does it appear right?

so what wp theme is this?  is it doing non standard wp things such as bypassing the head action or other?  does it show up if you do a quick temp change to the default wp theme?

No, it show but it's not working fine. The vote buttons appear double and the forun structure breaks in two. But at least it shows the poll, that's true.

Hi Mr. Papa

We're using Matt Brett's Conduit, but if we don't check Force the strict use of the WordPress API then bad things happen. Not only with this theme.

Look for instance here, this is another website, this uses Ghostpool's Score theme. The same weird results happen with those two themes, just check:

I've ever tried to activate Twenty Thirteen theme (base wp theme) and if i let that option unchecked I get the same result. (I can do if you want to give a look at it).

I am going to suggest that we concentrate on the theme issues first and then come back to the polls issue. Hope that is OK.

Simple:Press running using any of the WordPress supplied themes - including 2013 - is completely fine and displays exactly as it should. This is because the WP supplied themes stick rigidly to the basic WP API and standards. None of the special display options should be turned on. If you are saying - as you seem to be - that you do not find this to be the case on your website then it looks like there is something else that is causing the issue - and that would most likely be another plugin. So - fisrt question - am I right in thinking that this is what you mean - it fails with the default WP theme? And - if so the second question is - do you have any WordPress plugins active that might have an effect on the display of the post content in ANY way?

I can not, of course, try our 'Conduit' but I do know that we have users successfully running with ThemeForest supplied themes.
