what plugin?? simple press? or one of our plugins for simple press?  the latter are not wp plugins and must be installed in the sp plugins uploader admin panel...

if simple press itself, then something went wrong in wp uploader or in the ftp file upload process...  can you please walk us through the steps you did to get simple press on your server?

Deactivated and removed all plugins, removed Simple:Press using the Tools menu, deactivated and removed.

Tried to re-install Simple:Press using the latest build and ended up with the same error as the previous writer "The plugin does not have a valid header".

The only option I get after this is "Simple:Press is READY TO BE REMOVED. When you deactivate it ALL DATA WILL BE DELETED".

hi, it is the simple press itself.

in wordpress, when i tried to upload the simple press plugin, i cannot activate it.

Not simple press plugins, but simple press itself.

Could be a permissions issue with the host.. Worth checking anyway.

Is it a first time install? upgrade? and how are you installing it, FTP?

Exactly the same thing just happened to me, except that it mysteriously seemed to fix itself. It's a new install of SP; I installed it on another blog about a month ago in exactly the same way, and it was fine. But this time, that's the message that came up. I downloaded the latest version of SP and then uploaded it as a zip file. The message insisted twice in a row that the plugin didn't have a valid header; I closed out of the blog and opened it up again, and this time... the plugin showed in the list and it activated. O.o.

Maybe the plugin does not load some scripts in the correct Wordpress way so that they are included in the head and not in the bottom, where they should be. I have found that at least Plupload acts like this causing conflict situations with some other plugins.

scripts are loaded properly... of course, if you have an example where you think they are not, we can look into it...  its up to you if you load them in the header or footer... we follow the wp convention there and give you a further option...
