hmm again!
i click upgrade… all work fine
but nothing is change, titles still "forum | title", no topic name no forum name… in forum CP AIOSEO functions are ON. in AIOSEO canonical urls ON

if i uninstall AIOSEO forum generate right titles
thousands are using the two together with success (myself on 6 sites)… 4.0.4 wont work without aiosp. 4.1 can do it without aiosp though.
you arent running a cache plugin are you?
Visit my suggestion would be to grab 4.1… if aiosp is installed, we actually use the api he has added for tighter integration though I dont know why in your specific case its not working.
is your forum the front page?

I don't know the answer to this either (althopugh the 4.1 suggestion makes sense). But… Mr Papa was asking "is your forum the front page?" He meant do you have your forum set to display on the 'front' page of your site.
