Is it possible to disable RSS feed? Also not show the RSS feed icons and text?

Thanks,

yes… its in the online help (in your spf admin)… folks really should read all that hard work…

manage forums panel… in the far right column is a rss icon which allows you to configure the feed, including disabling…

Greetings,

Found the solution for the version I'm using (4.1.0) and wonder if it's the best solution for my issue.

I am running a membership site using Wishlist Member and my SPF forums live inside the membership site. I just realized that non-members can simply sign up for the RSS feed and read everything going on in the forums.  Is there a way to allow members of my site to use the RSS feed (I know many of them do) but prohibit non-members from getting the feed?

Not sure how this would work, but thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

Barry

with 4.2 private rss feeds are possible via feedkeys…

but with 4.1, you need to disable rss feeds of private forums…

Thanks for the super fast reply!

I remember last time I tried upgrading the plugin my entire look/feel went away and I wasn't able to get it back – had to restore the entire directory.

Is there a trick? Anyone available to do this for a fee? I'd really love to be able to control who has RSS access to the forums.

Thanks.

Barry

you can post in our 'jobs' forum to see if someone wants to take you up on your offer…

If you are using a custom skin, there have been some changes to skins…

coming from 4.1 to 4.2, you should remove the simple-forum directory completely (dont do ANYTHING to the db) and then upload the new one… go to your admin and click on upgrade…

Thanks.

Where are the changes documented?  I believe I am using one of the skins that came with the plug in.  Here is what my forum looks like.

Best,

Barry

if you are using one of our skins it has been updated as part of the release…nothing drastic, but new features need css… since you are using our skin, shouldnt be any worries.. any options you selected in the admin will carry over…
