I know you can create specific stylesheets for mobile devices, but don't know anything beyond that.
Off topic but while I was changing my profile I noticed it said that everything but your email address may be visible to the public – can I suggest adding the words "and password" in there :) just for future reference…
Apple released iPhone OS 3.0 today… apparently it uses the full version of safari… (Problem averted?)

Ahh, 3.0 was released a couple of weeks ago with the new iphone – and nope, unfortunately the problem still exists.

Yup problem continues to exist with the latest version as well… We use TinyMCE in our CMS and cannot find a way around it with our mobile devices. For instance today we were hoping to cover something live from the site, but could not once we were there. Very frustrating. It would be good to see progress with a solution for mobile devices. However there is an iPhone app for our wordpress sites that work well.
I guess 'problem' is in the eye of the beholder. We currently dont support mobile devices directly (do have ticket for a future release) so its more of a feature request than a problem.
sorry, must have been a long day at work…

I notice that there hasn't been any activity on this thead in a while.
Any thoughts on a solution for iPhone and iPad?
Our iPhone game's website ( http://www.100rogues.com ) uses Simple Press and we have loved it compared to our prior Plug-in. However, we had our first complaint about this issue today, and the visitor is absolutely right.
As noted before, it seems that the primary issue is that the text entry area is not recognized as such on these devices. The editor itself seems to load OK.
The problem remains the same as it did before, as you say, the browsers on these devices refuse to recognise the text area. There really isn't a lot that can be done about that and any other editor would suffer a similar fate.
There is a solution and that's for your user to use the "Plain Textarea" editor which can be set in the Profile -> Personal Options page. You need to make this available from the admin options. Or you could set the plain textarea as the default editor.
It's not an ideal solution by any means, but the options are somewhat limited.

Thanks for the responses.
Any thoughts on when v5.0 might be out?
I have otherwise been very happy with the display of the forums on iPhones on our game's site ( http://www.100rogues.com ), with the use of a plug-in which scales them nicely for smartphone reading.
