I am not seeing the Unread Posts List

The default themes supplied by Simple:Press displays an unread post list, at the bottom of the forum list in group view, to all users except for forum Administrators. It looks something like this:

If you wish to have the list displayed to Administrators you can do so by editing the Simple:Press theme.  Before you so you we recommend you create your own custom Simple:Press theme. The main reason for this recommendation is because after you edit an existing theme any new update will overwrite all your customizations. You don’t want to lose all your hard work!
Information on installing custom themes are located on our Creating a Theme page.

The function sp_RecentPostList() is used in the main forum page (spGroupView.php) after the groups and forums to display the list.  You would find this file in the theme’s /templates folder and can edit it using any text type file editor like notepad. Do not use a word processing program like MS Word to edit these files. Once you find the spGroupView.php file you can load it into your editor and search for the text ‘sp_RecentPostList’. You will find something like this:

sp_RecentPostList('show=10', __sp('Unread and recently updated topics'));

To change it to display the recent posts list  to admins you would change it to this.

sp_RecentPostList('show=10&admins=1', __sp('Unread and recently updated topics'));

There are also several other ways you can modify the Recent Post List display and you can see the complete usage and several different examples here
