Hi:

There are two places to report potential bugs:

1. Open an issue via the opensource project on github (if the bug is related to functions in the free core plugin): https://github.com/Simple-Pres.....ess/issues

2. Via a support ticket if you have a platinum license and the potential bug relates to a premium module.

Thanks.

I see that the template tags and widgets plugin has a fix for a missing include file on 2.2.1. I have a suspicion that this missing include file applies to all other functions in the template tags and widgets plugin.

The prune database option is very helpful if you want to block/delete. I wish I could use it as intended!

I've maintained my forum for more than 10 years. The database is huge. I want to clean it up, but I want retain popular threads, even if they are 10 years old!

To achieve this. I have to isolate thread prior to X date; select all, and then proceed to uncheck whatever it is that I want to keep.

I am currently in the middle of cleaning up threads from 2014. There are about 100 threads prior to that, which I want to keep. There are so many threads, I can only work with 2-3 months at a time. This means I have to unclick the same threads over and over!

How hard would it be to allow a date range to be isolated? It would sure save some pain.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. We've thought about doing this but its an extraordinary amount of work - the development cost would easily reach 5 digits. Given the numerous other chat options out there, its not something we're likely to be able to get a payback on our investment. So we've put it aside for now.

Hi:

This is not something on our road-map at this time. We've released a number of new plugins and features this year. Most of those were based on surveys that we did earlier in the year. But what we've found is that what users say they want in those surveys and what they're actually buying are two different things. So we've raised the bar on what it will take to add a new major feature - we're not going to add something unless we get a really large amount of interest. Right now this feature does not meet that bar. We have the rough draft of the specs ready for development but so far very little interest in it (maybe you and a couple of other users only so far.)

Thanks.

The traffic to my forum is strong but so few people contribute anymore. I've wondered about this for a long time. Made all kinds of excuses. But then someone emailed me - they had no earthly idea how to start a topic.

This reminded me; years ago I had my theme customized. The changes were lost with the upgrade.

The custom theme was still on my site though, so I activated it. It seems to work with minor weirdness, as far as I can tell at this point. But we people with forums really need people to participate. I don't think the little + sign quite cuts it (sorry).

Have a peek

My forum has been active since 2011. There are tons of post.

The pruning process would be much improved if you could set a range of dates rather than just a "prior to" date.

The way it stands, if I want to delete threads in 2014, I have to load the the threads from 2011, 2012, 2013 (which are already pruned).

If I have pruned the earlier year(s), I've retained the content I want to keep. This means I either "select all" and un-click 1000 threads or I do the opposite... click 1000 2014 posts that I want to delete.

If I could do this by year, that would help. But ideally a person could be able to set a range of dates and work with the isolated threads.

Thanks. 🙂
