Posts cannot be edited. When selecting "Edit" all we get is a blank input box with none of the original text and I cannot enter anything into the text area at all. The TinyMCE Editor has stopped working. I have uninstalled the plug in and re-installed to no avail. Yesterday I upgraded the Simple:Press Plugin and I also updated all the plugins. It worked fine last night but this afternoon it stopped. I have not restarted the server but I'm considering it.

Current Plugin version is 3.0.0

you dont mention it, but assume you also upgraded to wp 3.9 as required and detailed on the upgrade panel?

Are you using our mentions plugin?  there was an issue of a missing file in the latest update that can cause issues with the editor.. please make sure you have the latest of it from this afternoon...

Yes I am on 3.9 and no I do not have the mentions plugin installed. All installed plugins that showed as having updates available have been updated. I just got the new Thanks plugin update and installed it.

so just to be clear, this occurs ONLY when you edit an existing  post??  posting new topics or replies works fine?

and this is new after wp and sp upgrade?

None of it works, I surprised you haven't asked me if I'm using wish list.. No I'm not. I just installed the latest version of menitons to see what would happened and now I have the white screen of death. I also cannot list the installed plugins to see if I can uninstall them. I have switched to the 2012 theme to try to eliminate that as a problem but still no joy.

none of it works?  glad I asked because the topic was about editing posts...

why would I ask you about wishlist????  not sure how that would be related...

make sure that the mentions plugin directory name doesnt have a number in it...  ie mentions-1 vice mentions...  in wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins

could you please answer the question regarding only occurred AFTER updating wp to 3.9 and simple press to 5.4.2?

http://www.linestretchers.com

Hit the Contact Us menu item for the forum. I moved it there so I'd stop getting emails from the contact form.

CDN, no, Self hosted on a IIS 7.5 server with MySQL 56 running on a dedicated back end data server.

Switched the integration to strict wp api and then renamed the mentions plugin folder and got the site back from the white screen of death. I re-enabled the forums tab on the menu.

Now I'm back to the original problem with the TinyMCE not allowing edits. This same problem has been seen by other users.

I have the plugin page back also so I can uninstall plugins but the mentions plugin can't be uninstalled unless I rename the folder back to it's original and of course the will break things again.

Update - I was able to uninstall the mentions plugin completely. While it was installed I found that when I was trying to create a page in WordPress I had lost all my tool bars and my text in the editor area was white on white but was normal again after publishing. This was not completely corrected until I removed the SP TinyMCE plugin.

The Forums are back up but without a wysiwyg editor which is not very user friendly.
