We are pleased to announce the release of Simple:Press 5.1.2 which adds a large number of small but significant enhancements, bug fixes and extra support for some cool plugins also about to be released.
As always you can view the change log from the Simple:Press toolbox admin panel (Build 8910) before you update or just go for it! If you reported a bug or asked for a small enhancement or change then be sure to view the change list, hopefully you will find it in this update.
Please note also that some plugin changes are also dependent upon installing 5.1.2 so it is best to update your Simple:Press before updating your Simple:Press plugins.
Details of modifications to themes and templates – for those of you who have made custom themes – can be found on our Codex – Theme Changes 5.1.2 and taking a look at that is particularly important if you have crafted your own icons as there are 4 that have changed.
Also to be released are a small group of new plugins that require 5.1.2 and have been waiting in the wings for it to be released. Of these, our new Polls plugin is probably the most requested. But also coming is an updated and extended version of our CubePoints integration plugin and a Theme and Language Selector plugin that you could use to let your users choose their own colour scheme (for use with themes supporting overlays) and Language – dependent of course, on you uploading all the necessary language files to your site. The remaining new plugin which we know a few are waiting patiently for, Post By Email, will follow soon after.
Hopefully there is something for everyone in 5.1.2 and we can get down to the task of deciding what comes next!
