Hello people,
for my hobby website I am using WordPress and the Simple:Press forum for like twenty years now.
Since the latest WordPress updates the forum is not visible anymore, there is only an empty page with menu, header, footer.
So I changed my old WordPress theme to a new one (Twenty-Five), upgraded Simple:Press from 5.x to the latest 6.x, changed the PHP on my website from the obsolete 7.x to 8.x, but all that did not change anything. The forum is still not visible.
I am no IT professional unfortunately.
Maybe someone in here can help me?
Thanks a lot in advance.
P.S.: Here is the link to the forum page:
OfflineThanks for the detailed info 👍
An empty forum page is usually related to the forum page setup rather than the forum data itself, the pages seem to load and fetch the forum titles without any issues.
Please check the following:
- Go to Forum - Integration -Page and Permalink
- Make sure the Forum Page is correctly assigned and possibly try attach the forum to another page
Quick test:
- Create a new page and call it anything
- Assign that page as the forum page under Integration - Page and Permalink
This helps confirm if the issue is related to the current page setup.
Follow up questions:
- Did the problem start around the time you changed theme? Newer themes can sometimes affect how the forum is displayed and may need some additional adjustments
- If possible, check for any PHP errors (or enable WP_DEBUG)
