Several times now all of our premium simple-press plugins that had been activated will suddenly deactivate themselves. It's hard to pinpoint when or why this is happening, but it's very very frustrating. I only find out when someone complains that they can no longer upload a file, etc. I can reactivate the plugins but I also have to reconfigure their settings each time.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? Are there any common plugin or theme conflicts I should be aware of? We have several WooCommerce plugins (among others) installed, and use the Divi theme. I can do the normal troubleshooting (using a default theme, turning all the plugins off and back on one by one), but because this seems to be happening randomly I"m not sure how to actually find the conflict. I can't figure out what's triggering the deactivation of the plugins. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
You know, I'm wondering if they get disabled during WordPress updates. A lot of times updates get run but no on bothers to check if the site is fully functioning afterwards. Can you double check that the plugins are still active after the next time you run updates for your WordPress themes and plugins?
Note that this is literally a stab in the dark since, as you already know, there's no way to troubleshoot otherwise.
Mine also keep deactivating, when people are using the forum. I keep coming back to the homepage and the recent post widget is gone. I have gone to post a few times and the TinyMCE plugin is deactivated. The subscriptions plugin has also repeatedly deactivated. This seems to be a very serious issue, is there a solution?
No solution so far. Sometimes it's just a few of the plugins that are deactivated, sometimes it's all of them (with the exception of the "All Premium Plugins and Themes Installer" plugin - that one always remains active). For us, it's the File Uploader with Plupload and the TinyMCE plugins. I never know there's a problem until someone complains that they can't attach a file.
We also have WooCommerce subscriptions installed on our site, though the problem was occurring prior to that as well. I just can't seem to find the trigger.
We haven't been able to duplicate this issue internally. My suspicion is it has something to do with when WordPress runs its updates or checks its updates. Since the only plugin we have that does updates to other plugin is the ALL PREMIUM PLUGINS THEMES INSTALLER, my guess is there's some weird interaction between WP and it. So can you try turning that plugin off and see if the issue stops occurring?
Since posting, the Editor TinyMCE Rich Text deactivated. I have done as you said and deactivated the ALL PREMIUM PLUGINS THEMES INSTALLER, but does this mean that I won't get any plugin updates?
I am using the Modern 2020 theme, which is asking to be updated but every time I try the notification to update remains, so there is something going on there, is that connected?
