Hi All,

Really impressed with this forum plugin, the best one I've ever used :-)

I would like a collection tool created for it.

Basics:

A area where I can input data, such as:

A title,

A description

Photo's

PDF file

MP3

box

instructions

cart/disc

And mabye a estimated value box would be handy as well, even though it isn't really required.

The data I input should then be visible on a a page of the forum/tab of the forum, between 5-10 items a page shold show up.

Users should be able to add that item to their collection, just by clicking the plus sign, the user should be able to view their collection via their profile and it should be also visible on their public profile.

Each item, should be able to be added to the collection as either CIB, just cart, just instructions just cart, or a mix, this could just be done by tick boxes.

If estimated value is included, I should be able to add value, for CIB, Cart, instructions and box from admin, and it should show a value total to the person's who collection it is, they should be able to choose if they want that value public on their profile or hidden.

It would be handy if I could add or remove text boxes, check boxes and upload fields.

Users should be able to edit their own value of their collection.

The database needs to be searchable.

*phew* That's about it, it doesn't have to be as complicated as that. I willing to listen to suggestions etc, that's just a base of what I was thinking. All it 100% needs to do is intergrate within the forum.

You can contact me via:

Thanks for reading this rather long winded post ;)

Kind Regards

Adam.

collection tool?  sorry not really following what you want...  and a bunch of this is already available, I think...

have you seen the custom profile plugin for SP?  It allows you to add any number of additional fields to a user profile to collect additional data and display for folks...  these would be within the current profile though adding a new tab or profile menu is supported through program hooks and filters...

pdf file? mp3? photos?  have you seen the file uploader plugin for SP that allows users to upload files within posts?

I will have BrandonC contact  you... he does a lot of our custom work and will try to understand exactly what you want and what it would take to get it for you...

I'm not sure what you want either. Is there some other site that is doing something similar we could look at?

Sorry, I know my post wasn't over clear.

Yes like collection management software, similar to that of what museums use, a example would be http://www.collectiveaccess.org/

Hope this explains a little better.

Thank you.

Kind Regards

Adam.

Having someone make something like what I see on retrocollection from scratch would be pretty expensive. I would look around and see if there is some kind of website software for hobbies or collectables that you can integrate into the website. Then have Simple:Press hook into it or display what you want.

Adam I run VideoGameRescue.com and would love to add this to my site as well. If you find anything let me know.
