(Paid Job) A custom usergroup plugin required

Hi I’m looking to have a nice simple press plugin made up….

I want want to be able to set a WP user’s role that will add a user to that simple press user-group from role I manually set them at in wp backend.  This is a special plugin I want for my member site.

Please don’t give me other membership options because I already have something that works well enough from creating roles and giving users access to parts of the site.

I want to know if that type of simple press plugin is possible or not?

from the info you entered, its already built in… If you change a user’s WP role via the WP API, a hook is fired which tells us this.. if you then have mapped user roles to sp user groups on forum – usergroups – map users to usergroups, it will get auto moved to the new user group and get the permissions/accesses associated with that user group…

Cool sounds good, thanks man :)

Is there some kind of deal I can read on setting up this mapping?

Under User Mapping, I tried to set a role but it didn’t switch over like I wanted it to.  My idea of switching over is when I change the users role from the WP end, that group gets added to the usergroup listed in his or her profile listed under usergroup.

I like this forum a lot man and I imported everything from mingle :)   Lot to learn but fun.

Thanks,

Jon
