Paid Job – SMF to SP Conversion

Hi Folks,

 

First thing is a shout out to the 2 man development team… WOW what a nice app!  Thanks!

 

We have a SMF Simple Machines Forum and after reading all the posts here and elsewhere I need help! We are creating a completely new site to combine our existing WP blog, SMF forum and 2 static pages into one “super site”.  I need someone to help us convert the SMF forum to Simple:press and I understand that the users may not come over..

 

OK we can live with that.

 

Small fairly fresh forum with 501 Posts in 277 Topics by 64 Members.

 

Anybody able to take this on?

Well 5 minutes after posting this I stumbled on gConverter and have requested a quote and more information so standby!

we have a converter from SMF to SP importer…  I will email it to you to try – its in beta…

Sirs…. I owe you a large cold adult beverage!!

The converter works like a champ and is flawless and saved my backside.  We now have taken several sites and created one content rich site with your fantastic forum software and the convertor/importer script.

Odd question from a newb…how do I use the converter?

its just another wp plugin… upload to wp plugins folder… activate… then under the simple press menu, at the bottom, will be the importer link…

you need a clean forum install…

let us know how it goes… importer has held up very nicely… couple issues with some diff char sets that we are working, but all in all pretty good…
