Updating old simplepress forum plugin

Hello

In 2007 I had a friend set up my wordpress based homepage including a simplepress forum plugin.

Since then, due to my unfortunate negligence, it has become outdated rendering me unable to update from the old 3.1.4 version.

This has stranded med with a useless forum with a lot of unhappy users and a problem with accessing the forum via my dashboard (get the typical “you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” message

What are my options here?

Any chance you can help or give me a quote on getting me back on track?

Regards

Thomas

You can upgrade it yourself.
At this FAQ page you will see instructions for updating from 4.5 to version 5.0 (the latest is 5.7.3). You need to be on 4.5 to upgrade to 5. You will also see links to all previous versions that you can use to step up and get up to date.

Would that be a FAQ page inside the payable members forum?

Would be happy to pay to be able to update my simple press forum plugin

I dont think @yellow-swordfish actually posted a link…

think he meant this one:  https://simple-press.com/documentation/codex/installation/upgrading/

you can see how to get to 4.5 and then eventually to current 5.7.3…
