4.04 link topic to blog

One thing I noticed today. If you link a post to your blog and fail to select a category it through two errors.

I think that making it default to the default category on someones blog or if the person only has one category like myself it should attach itself to the category. I know this is a request that was spawned from pure laziness but it would be nice to have.

do you not have a default category in wp defined? if so, does the same thing happen?

If its a problem, blog linking will be getting a major overhaul in 4.2… will open a ticket to make sure we dont lose sight of this and do investigate it.

This sounds like another WP change we may have missed. In the early days of linking I am 99% sure that it DID pick up the default. But that was several WP versions ago. probably around 2.2

ticket is opened…  we can decide if its 4.1 or 4.2…

when you select link topic it shows the categorie(s) but it does not auto select. So it properly shows but does not select a default or in my case the only category created. One thing that would be nice is to be able to set this via the the admin panel/options/limks menu. Would very handy and in most cases only the admin or trusted folks would be allowed to use this feature.. typically..

Not a bad idea. It’s already on my 4.2 list for the linking makeover.
